Project Goals:
- Engage the region’s state government officials, stakeholder interests, and the general public in issues pertaining to federal radioactive waste shipment programs
- Identify and analyze regional concerns pertaining to the transportation of spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste
- Collaborate with DOE and other stakeholders to resolve radioactive waste transportation issues in ways that meet the needs of the Northeast
The Project's primary purpose is to support a Task Force of representatives from ten Northeastern states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont.
